They are finally getting finished

The fourth grade artists latest assignment was that they were presented  with a medium and the artists had to think up an idea and create it.  The medium I presented was books (great old books that were donated from a local library and parent donations). The students had to sketch, present and create their idea.  We looked at many resources including blogs, artworks and museum shows to inspire us.  There are so many great sights for book and paper art. There even is a great show on-line from the Museum of Art and Design.

But one of our biggest resources was from the author and artist Jason Thompson and his book:

Playing with Books:  The Art of Upcycling,
 Deconstructin and Reimaginig the Book

The students work has been fantastic!

 Spaghetti and Meatballs

Word Bird

Please keep checking back for more work. I will post it as it gets finished.
