The first grade artists were studying coins and that was a great segway into medals and the Olympics. The artists had to creat a medal out of clay with the image of what they are good at. We had medals with books on them, pianos, basketballs, snow boards and art supplies. But more exciting than that was getting you picture taken at the podium with flowers, the flag and a gold medal. We had lots of rounds of chanting USA! USA!
