Hans on with kindergarten

Hans Hofmann was one of the most important art teachers in the United States during the 1930s and 1940s, the years when the artistic center of the world shifted from Europe to America. We can see his theories of abstraction in the works of younger artists Willem de Kooning and Jackson Pollock. Hofmann’s students included painters Helen Frankenthaler, Lee Krasner, Larry Rivers, and the kindergarten artists of Shamrock Springs.
