Environmental art

The third grade artists celebrated earth day with trash. We explored items that are considered refuse; old CDs , water bottles, old books, news paper, scrap paper and coffee go cup lids. The artists created vases, flowers and awards. The awards have " award winning ideas" on them, they are ideas that are environmentally friendly. The artists were so excited to see such beautiful creations made from daily detritus.
Beginning of the vases.
Finished vases with flowers.

Award winning ideas

The artists learned how to fold the papers to creat the award.

Finished awards on display. The centers of the awards are coffee cup lids fished from the trash at school.

Origami Yoda says " plant a tree, you must!".

Don't squish spiders.

Plant a tree.
